Here are
a few of the commonly asked questions. Please Feel free to write
Dr. Jackson
at [email protected]
if you have any questions or need additional information regarding
Chiropractic
care and benefits.
Q: Is Dr.
Jackson on my plan?
A: You
bet. He has made it a point to be on as many PPO’s and HMO’s that
are available.
If you're not sure, call our office and we'd be happy to
contact your
insurance for you to find out.
Q: What does
a typical treatment plan cost?
A: That
depends. It may cost you nothing if you've been in an auto accident
or injured on
the job. It may just be a small co-pay. Dr. Jackson gets a
thorough history
and does a postural evaluation, an orthopedic and
neurologic exam
and a spinal evaluation. X-rays may or may not be taken,
depending upon
your case. Based on these findings, he will sit down and
map out a plan
specifically for your needs. Everyone is different in their
response to
the treatment. We will work with you closely to make sure you
get the appropriate
treatment for your problem, without over-treatment.
Q: Why do
some people seem to go to the chiropractor forever?
A: Do
you only visit your dentist when your teeth hurt? Do you see
your
mechanic only
when your car won't run? Many people can feel the difference
of being in
alignment or being out of alignment. Your body is exposed to
many stresses
day in and day out. Weak areas in the spine ( and we all
have them) tend
to mis-align when stressed. Periodic adjustments can
prevent these
areas from tightening up that can turn into nagging headaches,
low back aches
or body aches. Dr. Jackson gets adjusted at least once a
month.
He knows it when he doesn't and so will you when you get under
active care.
Q: Is it
safe to get adjustments?
A:
Adjustments, when delivered by a skilled professional, are safer than
taking a pain
reliever. Some people may experience post-adjustment soreness
that may last
a day or two, but this is normal. There are certain
conditions that
should not be adjusted, but the Doctor determines this in
the pre-treatment
history taking. Certain types of cervical adjustments
have been associated
with vessel injury, but this incidence is extremely
rare (1/one
million major complications).
